SOLUDO AWARDS CONTRACTS TO CONSTRUCT FLYOVER, MORE ROADS Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State is gradually making good his promise to turn Anambra State into one huge road construction site, all in a bid to ultimately make travelling around the state easier and pleasurable. To this end, Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) recently approved and awarded contracts for the construction of a flyover at Ekwulobia to decongest the hellish traffic jam often experienced at the roundabout. Other adjoining roads around the area to be constructed include the Nanka –Ekwulobia – Aguata local government headquarters road (2.0km); Ekwulobia – Oko road (0.825km) and Ekwulobia – Isuofia road (1.125km). The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has just been freed by The Appeal Court, Abuja Division.   Currently, Mazi Kanu is being tried by the federal government before a Federal High Court in Abuja, for a 15 count charge bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism, he had allegedly committed these crimes during the course of his separatist campaigns.   However, three-man panel of the Appellate court said the High Court lacked the jurisdiction to try him in view of his abduction and extraordinary rendition to Nigeria in flagrant violation of the OAU convention and protocol on extradition.
